Today, I’d like to introduce a new feature to this site. Every now and then, I’ll make an audio recommendation. At least for the near term, I’ll be sticking with spoken word content. I won’t completely rule out music but for now, it’s not a top priority.
I’ll kick off this segment by recommending The Dark Tower
audiobook series. Written by Stephen King, it tells the story of gunslinger Roland and his quest to fix the broken world he inhabits. It’s a great mix of fantasy and science fiction. In addition, the pacing of the plot is nearly perfect. more »

I originally found this clip on TV in Japan. The Best House 1, 2, 3 is a show hosted by the Japanese comedy team London Boots. It’s a far cry from the stuff they did with Platinum London Boots, but I think it’s a decent show. more »

The Capybara (カピバラ) has received a lot of media attention in Japan. I’ve seen this animal on at least two different variety shows this past week. Walk into most any Japanese bookstore and you’ll see Capybara children’s books and stuffed animals. more »

If you’re looking for an easy to use screencap utility, I strongly recommend checking out Skitch. It’s been in closed beta for a while but they opened it up to everybody several weeks ago. more »

Setting up your Mac with a password protected login offers some degree of protection. While it will keep out your average user, anyone with an OS X install disc can still get access to your system. They just have to boot the OS X DVD and use the included utility to reset your account password. more »
