Is this the 3g iPhone?
According to The iPod Observer, this might be a leaked photo of the upcoming 3g iPhone. Some might think it was a simple ColorWare job but notice that there’s no seam where the metal backing and plastic antenna cover meet.
Of course, the seam could of been taken out with a Photoshop patch/clone tool. In terms of design, I hope Apple goes in this direction. Physically, I always thought the plastic antenna cover was the one major weakness in the exterior design of the iPhone. The cover on my phone was always a bit off-center and felt cheap.
A one piece design would do a nice job of cleaning things up. Some scratch resistance would also be welcomed.
As with almost all rumors, you should take in this photo with some strong skepticism. Remember when one of the early iPhone rumors was for a phone with two batteries? One for the phone and one for the music player?
