Audio Pick: The Dark Tower

Today, I’d like to introduce a new feature to this site. Every now and then, I’ll make an audio recommendation. At least for the near term, I’ll be sticking with spoken word content. I won’t completely rule out music but for now, it’s not a top priority.
I’ll kick off this segment by recommending The Dark Tower audiobook series. Written by Stephen King, it tells the story of gunslinger Roland and his quest to fix the broken world he inhabits. It’s a great mix of fantasy and science fiction. In addition, the pacing of the plot is nearly perfect.
The narrator, Frank Muller voices books two, three, and four in this seven book series. His voice brings an added dimension to the story that you can’t get from just reading the book. The other narrator, George Guidall does a fine job on the other books but he’s no Frank Muller. Due to an unfortunate accident, Mr. Muller was not able to finish out the series.
You can find The Dark Tower audiobooks on the iTunes store. For a better overall deal, I recommend signing up with Audible where you can also find these books. Audible actually supplies most of the audiobooks for the iTunes store so you might as well get them from the source.
