Change Your Default OS X Applications

Changing the default app for a particular file type is not an easy process under OS X. RCDefaultApp is a systems preferences pane that allows the user to make such changes from a centralized location.
I’m currently running this app under Leopard and have yet to encounter any issues. RCDefaultApp is freeware.

This is a great prefpane although, annoyingly, it still doesn’t always work. Also, the icon for a document isn’t always changed to the program that will open it when you double-click the document.
I think this is one of mac os’s biggest faults, apple should have removed this old system where a document is ALWAYS opened with the application that created it. It just doesn’t make any sense at all, especially when you work a lot with HTML, javascript, and JPG files.
