Remove Stains from a White Macbook

One annoyance of the white Macbook is how dirty the palm rest can get. I wash my hands regularly but it only took a month or so for the palm rest assembly to slightly darken in appearance.
I’m thinking that the porous material must have something to do with this problem.
I’ve used all kinds of cleaners with no success. Then I read about someone on the Apple discussion forums using non-acetone nail polish remover to clean the stains on his white Macbook.
So I gave it a shot and it works for the most part. There are still some light residual artifacts but I’d say it’s an improvement overall. Make sure the nail polish remover you’re using is the non-acetone version. Acetone nail polish remover will destroy your Macbook’s exterior casing.
