The Perfect iPhone Shorts
For those contemplating some kind of iPhone transport device, I’d like suggest a pair of shorts from 5.11 Tactical. Don’t let the name lead you astray. They won’t make you look like a soldier of fortune wannabe. These shorts are comfortable, well-made, and they have a cell phone pocket on the front that happens to fit the iPhone perfectly.
I hate using bulky protective covers with my iPhone. Having this pocket allows me to keep my naked iPhone away from my keys and change. I like to keep the screen pointed towards my body for added protection.
The velcro flap keeps my iPhone from accidentally falling out. The fit of the pocket is neither loose nor tight. I can easily remove my iPhone from my pocket and at the same time the pocket keeps the iPhone from moving around too much. If I want to use my earphones, I can give the jack adequate room by closing the velcro flap at an angle.
Here’s a shot of the back. The utility strap looks a bit unusual but in my everyday use, I never found it to get in my way. And for those interested in pants, 5.11 does make a pants version of the tactical shorts. You can purchase these shorts from most uniform/military shops. I purchased my pair from Quartermaster.
