Amiga CEO says the new AmigaOS is better than OS X

Amiga CEO

It’s been said that back in the day, the Amiga platform offered the most advanced personal computer operating system. What’s Amiga been up to lately?

“Amiga Inc. Acting President Bill McEwen has given an update to Amiga OS5 of sorts. In a previous interview Bill had said of OS5: “The product that we are going to ship is going to be much better than OSX from Apple”. “OS 5 is ahead of schedule, and we will be making public announcements concerning the product in the 4th quarter of this year.”

In the late 1980s, I had the option of getting an Amiga 2000 but instead decided to go with the Apple IIgs. Part of me regrets that decision. From my brief experience with the Amiga, I found the graphics capabilities as well as the floppy drive loading times to be vastly superior to my Apple.

Gateway did nothing when they owned Amiga. Until Amiga actually puts out a product, I’m not going to take this seriously.

  1. In its prime, the Amiga was the best games machine anyone could wish for. I doubt that it will ever return to its glory days.
