My Menu Bar

My Menu Bar

Lifehacker has a gallery of reader submitted Mac menu bar screenshots. I’m amazed at the amount of the clutter I see in these screenshots. Do you really need to have all those icons stuck in your menu bar?

In this regard, I prefer to be a minimalist. As you can see in the pic above, I try to keep it simple. Bluetooth, Airport, sound, international, battery, and clock. I have Spotlight disabled so that last icon does nothing. I could have taken it out with a chmod command but I don’t like the idea of taking out an icon via file permissions.

What’s in your menu bar? Do you like to keep it simple? Or do you prefer having a line of icons stretch out towards the middle of your screen?
