Boost Your Productivity with Quicksilver

Quicksilver Logo

Quicksilver allows the user to tap in a few characters and quickly get access to the items on their computer. You access Quicksilver by tapping command-space.

From there you can type in the first few characters of the item you’re looking for. Quicksilver will present you with a list of items it thinks you’re looking for. From there, the user can scroll down that list and select the item they want. From here on out, Quicksilver will tie that character combination with that particular item on the list.

As an example if you type in “yah” and select Yahoo.com from the list, Quicksilver will associate “yah” with Yahoo.com. You no longer have to scroll down and search for Yahoo.com from the list of possible choices. Don’t worry, these associations aren’t set in stone. You can always go back and change them later.

This example scratches just the surface of Quicksilver’s power. This app isn’t just a launcher. You can also perform a variety of file modifications as well as transmit files in many different ways.

So I invite you to try out this program. Just using the app launching aspect of Quicksilver will forever change the way you use your Mac. Need more in-depth instruction? Check out the tutorial section.

And by the way, Quicksilver is free.
